Cosmetic retailer boosting sales with AR magazine
DOBI beauty retailer is using an AR app to reveal interactive digital content attached to its monthly printed magazine and beauty stores across Switzerland. The initiative has increased online sales as well as in-store purchases by adding value and interest to the user experience.
DOBI, the largest beauty retailer in Switzerland, offers an extensive assortment of more than 12.000 products and 100 world brands. Apart from its wide range of beauty merchandise, DOBI also has its own Beauty Academy.
The Beauty Academy, in combination with all DOBI facilities and services, offers everything needed to specialize and work as a beauty professional. Part of their program includes a monthly magazine named Beauty Inspiration, which includes special deals and provides useful tips and tricks as well as new techniques from the world of beauty.
To positively enhance both magazine and brand, DOBI uses the Augmara CMS and White Label app to integrate and activate AR content into their monthly magazines and across their chain of stores. The AR feature used for this project is Wikitude’s Image Recognition technology which detects, recognizes and tracks 2D targets to overly digital content such as text, video, 3D models, sound and more.
To experience the AR interactions, users must download the DOBI app, available for both iOS and Android, to scan the marked magazine pages and posters inside retail stores. Once the target is recognized, the app will reveal hidden digital content: helpful step by step tutorials, product demos, special offers, weekly deals, and more inspiration material.
