Claro El Salvador, the giant mobile network operator, is using an augmented reality treasure hunt game to increase sales, engage users and attract new customers. Created by GlobalPay Solutions and powered by Wikitude the ‘RecarGO!’ app is making great use of current technology and trends.
Inspired by treasure hunting adventures, the goal of ‘RecarGO!’ is to find the largest number of augmented reality treasure chests, digitally hidden in the real world, to collect virtual coins. Players can automatically redeem a prize once they collect 20 coins.
The more coins, the better the prizes! Some of the prizes are minute packages, navigation packages, social network packages, cell phones, supermarket certificates, video game consoles, among others.
Additionally, users can use the app to find YoVendoRecarga.com sellers and other traditional points of sale (pharmacies, stores, among others) in their surroundings. There is also an added feature with the possibility to make Top Up requests directly from the app. Developed by GlobalPay Solutions USA Inc, the app now has thousands of Claro customer all over EL Salvador playing the game powered by Wikitude.
Uniting the exciting thrill of augmented reality hunting games with an instant payout system (real prizes immediately redeemable on your phone), this app is being used by the mobile network operator ‘Claro’ not only to attract new customers but also to engage existing ones.
By using Wikitude’s GEO-BASED AR technology, the developers were able to place geo-references in various points of interest, adding geospatial augmentations in various forms: 2D, 3D images, animations, video, and sound.
