As many of you know, we’re quite active on Facebook as well as Twitter, keeping our Augmented Reality friends and fans up to date with what’s going on inside Wikitude, what we’re working on, new features and/or product announcements, as well as providing news items that we find interesting. We’ve already had some great interactions with some amazing folks from all around the globe, and we were very happy to fire things up on a rainy Monday morning and discover that we’d recently surpassed the 10,000 fans landmark with our Facebook community!
This got us to thinking…ten thousand people. That’s no small amount. Sure, we’re still standing on the shoulders of major brands like Coca-Cola, but never the less, a significant number. So what do you do with 10,000 fans? Well, first and foremost, keep calm and carry on. After the initial “AWESOME!”, we took a look through some numbers and figures, and compared them to our development community, and low-and-behold, there are quite a significant number of registered developers with Wikitude who are also fans on Facebook.
So how do you share 10,000 fans worth of excitement with developers? Provide them with an additional 10,000 free installations of course!
From today until the stroke of midnight on July 31st (CET), we’re offering an additional 10,000 installations of your app created with the Wikitude SDK, either Pro or Lite editions!
Why the Wikitude SDK?
There are a number of reasons why you or your development team should be using Wikitude when considering an innovative Augmented Reality solution. Everything from the simplicity of employing common web dev technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript make the coding and implementation of your AR experience a snap, and doesn’t require developers to learn and work with any new or unfamiliar coding languages.
The usage of Javascript not only makes Wikitude incredibly flexible, but also powerful. As any Java developer will tell you, if the groundwork is there, with Java, the possibilites are endless. With Wikitude’s Augmented Reality SDK, developers are free to let their imaginations run wild. What type of Augmented Reality experience you build is up to you!
But don’t just take our word for it, as we’re always collecting great use case stories for our Showcase section, highlighting prominent organizations that have taken advantage of Wikitude’s Augmented Reality technology.
Thank You!
In addition to providing the additional 10,000 installations free until the end of July, we’d like to take this space and thank each and every one of you. Building Wikitude has been a tremendously rewarding experience for all of us involved, and with Google, Canon, Olympus, Epson, and others pushing the boundaries of what is possible with mobile computing and displays, we’re looking forward to some very exciting times!
